RoomCounter exists to help churches know attendance without compromising trust. We designed the service around still photos, scheduled moments, and non-identifying counts from the start.
1. What we capture
RoomCounter takes still photographs of rooms at the exact moments your church schedules, such as a baseline before a service and a headcount during the sermon. There is no video recording, no live streaming, and no continuous monitoring of any kind. Between scheduled captures, the camera does nothing.
2. No faces, no identification
Our counting technology detects the presence of people so it can produce an accurate total. It does not perform facial recognition, it does not create biometric profiles, and it does not attempt to identify any individual. Faces are never extracted, stored, or used for any purpose. The output of the system is a number, a confidence score, and an archived photograph of the room.
3. Your data belongs to your church
All counts, reports, and archived images are the property of your church. We act only as a processor of that data on your behalf. We never sell your data, we never share it with advertisers, and we never use it to train systems unrelated to your service.
4. Storage and security
Images and counts are encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the staff accounts your church administrator approves, with role-based permissions. Our infrastructure runs on audited cloud providers with industry-standard physical and network security.
5. Retention and deletion
Your administrator chooses how long archived images are kept (the default is 180 days), after which they are permanently deleted. Attendance numbers may be retained for reporting history. You may request complete deletion of your church's data at any time, and we will complete it within 30 days.
6. Account information
We collect the basic information needed to run your account: church name, staff names and email addresses, and billing details. We use this only to provide the service, and we do not share it with third parties except payment processing.
7. Questions
Privacy questions deserve straight answers. Email us at privacy@roomcounter.app or contact us and a person will respond.
